We have a no shoe policy in our new classroom so please feel free to send slippers along with your child. I will ensure slippers are sent home on a Friday, however if you want them taken home every night it will be your childs responsibility to remember.
Our bus system is now moving through it's initial teething problems and we have adapted a new system to help it run smoothly.
Iona, Leonia and I will work together to walk the bus children out and one of us will remain in the classroom for those who are not leaving by bus from rooms 15, 16 and 17.
Please feel free to email me to confirm the bus your child will be travelling on- if one at all.
Hello and welcome to Room 16's class blog. Here you can view activites we have participated in, upcoming events and notices. There are tabs for specific learning areas outlining our learning focuses plus supporting online activities. Please feel free to comment on posts and join us on our 2011 school journey.

School is closed tomorrow. For all information refer to the school website. I do not know when school will re open sorry.
Well done on collecting your children so quickly. We were the first class all gone!
And a HUGE well done to the class for being so brave. After the 5.5 I met the class at the front fence and they had lined them selves up already. Awesome job Room 16!

Week 6 Blurb
Well it was certainly a wet ending to a great week. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the Life Education Van this week. They also seemed enthusiastic about the sports coaching on Tuesday morning, and to top it off a disco tonight!
In topic this week we had a look at life cycles. The children were able to show some improvement in their sequencing and drawing of arrows to show direction.
We spoke a lot about what makes a good leader this week as it easily integrated into our P.E. focus. Since this discussion I have seen a great improvement in awareness of others. Really good to see.
The focus word has been a point of discussion this week so thank you for supporting this learning as it has improved the children's recognition of the focus word and use of it in the classroom. Next weeks word is away. Some of you may like to focus on the 'ay' sound as we will be looking at this in some reading groups next week.
I hope you have a safe and happy weekend. Have a great time at the disco, and I am sorry I can't make it.
Kind Regards,
Heidi Key

Up dates
New photos added to maths and topic. A new blurb and photo on writing regarding the writing stand and the high-lighting system.
Letter Writing
Today we wrote thank you letters to a school in Taiwan. They worked hard and raised money for our school to support us through the recent tough times. Maia's uncle works at this school. We tried really hard to do our best writing!
Life Education Trust
Today and yeasterday we visited the Life Education caravan. It was a lot of fun. The highlight was seeing Harold the giraffe. We learnt that we need to eat a variety of foods to give us energy. We also learnt about when to eat different types of foods.
We were given stickers to remember Harold and work books. These workbooks are to kept at home now.
It was a great learning experience for the children.

Kathmandu Vouchers
I have made a terrible mistake by forgetting to give out vouchers for Kathmandu, gifted from Ethan (and his family). The vouchers are valid until Monday the 6th of June. If you are able to collect your child's voucher tomorrow I will be here at school and will leave them in the office. I am so sorry it slipped my mind to distribute them this afternoon.
